SOLD. Copyright 2013. Acrylic, aluminum and carbon steel on cradled panel. This painting was composed for Chris Flaton, a machinist. The color palette for the painting is aluminum, bronze, stainless and carbon steel metallic. Also used were a translucent yellow meant to simulate the lubricating oil used in many machining processes and finally a rust color meant to simulate just that, rust. The rack, rail and gears attached to the piece were cut and threaded or given welded attachment points by Chris Flaton.
